Bali, February 17, 2016 – Uber Technologies, Inc. – Uber, the mobile application that is transforming how people commute in cities around the world, is bringing UberCHOPPER to Bali on Friday, 19 February 2016. After the success of UberCHOPPER in Jakarta a few months ago, UberCHOPPER is now being made available on the island of Gods, Bali.

In cooperation with Air Bali, UberCHOPPER will bring the unique experience of a helicopter ride for free! Bali is best known for its beautiful beaches, spectacular view and gorgeous weather. So, UberCHOPPER will give the chance to explore it all from 5,000 feet at the push of a button.

UberCHOPPER will be available on Friday, 19 February from 12.00pm - 14.00pm WITA on February 19, 2015.

To request, riders simply need to:

1. Enter the promo code UBERCHOPPERBALI under the promotions section

2. Select UberCHOPPER in the Uber app

3. Then select their “Set Pickup Location” and hit request.

4. Once the request is confirmed, riders will receive a call for final confirmation.

5. An UberX will pick them up, and transport them to Benoa Heliport Complex for their UberCHOPER ride.

Go Local: Restoran, rempah, dan kuliner tradisi Indonesia di Ubud Food Festival 2016

Ubud Food Festival (UFF) di tahun 2015 lalu berhasil membawa 6,500 pecinta kuliner dari Indonesia dan negara-negara lainnya untuk berkumpul merayakan kemeriahan dan kekayaan kuliner Indonesia. Dan di bulan Februari ini, tim penyelenggara dengan bangga mengumumkan kembalinya Ubud Food Festival pada 27 – 29 Mei 2016

Dengan mengusung lezatnya kuliner di seluruh Nusantara Indonesia, Ubud Food Festival akan berlangsung selama tiga hari dan diisi oleh program-program seperti demo memasak, workshops dan masterclass, event spesial yang diadakan di beberapa institusi kuliner Ubud, forum kuliner, dan masih banyak lagi.

“Satu hal yang kami pelajari di Ubud Food Festival tahun lalu adalah rasa lapar akan pengetahuan kuliner itu nyata,” ujar Founder & Director UFF, Janet DeNeefe. “Antusiasme dari komunitas kuliner lokal maupun internasional yang membanjiri UFF 2015, membuat kami tanpa ragu membawa kembali UFF untuk tahun keduanya.”

Susunan program dan daftar pembicara yang akan meramaikan UFF 2016 ini baru akan dirilis pada bulan April, bersamaan dengan dimulainya penjualan tiket. Namun DeNeefe memberikan sedikit gambaran tentang tema UFF 2016.

“Program UFF tahun ini akan berpusat pada konsep ‘go local’,” DeNeefe menjelaskan. “Kami akan menampilkan produsen lokal yang selama ini bekerja sama dengan restoran-restoran terbaik di Ubud, atau memberikan tantangan bagi chef internasional dalam berkreasi dengan tempe atau kunyit. UFF 2016 adalah tentang merayakan kekayaan yang dimiliki Indonesia.”

UFF 2016 juga akan membuka jendela tradisi Indonesia dan menyelami aspek tradisi kuliner Indonesia, dari mempelajari jenis makanan seorang pendeta di Bali hingga mengunjungi ‘Tofu Grannies’ yang selama beberapa generasi telah memproduksi tahu di Ubud.

Festival ini juga akan meneruskan misinya dalam mengumpulkan juru masakjuru masak dari seluruh nusantara dalam satu pentas, mulai dari chef muda yang sedang membumbui kancah kuliner Indonesia yang terus berkembang atau ‘ibu-ibu’ penjual makanan di pasar.

Melihat suksesnya acara Rendang Cook-Off antara Indonesia dan Malaysia di UFF tahun lalu, tahun ini pun acara sejenis akan kembali hadir, mempertemukan dua chef yang akan bertarung dalam menyajikan kreasi masakan terbaik mereka.

“Makanan Indonesia sangatlah beragam; bahkan jenis makanan yang paling dikenal seperti nasi goreng memiliki keunikan tersendiri di setiap daerah di Indonesia. Kami juga sekarang melihat modernisasi kuliner Indonesia sejak mulai dikenal di luar negeri dan banyak bermunculannya variasi makanan Indonesia dengan sentuhan internasional,” ujar DeNeefe.

“UFF memiliki tujuan untuk memperkaya pengertian tentang perjalanan kuliner Indonesia, mengeksplorasi sosial, budaya, dan sejarah yang menjadi latar belakang dari makna kuliner itu sendiri. Bagaimana kami memodernkan kuliner Indonesia sekaligus tetap menjaga akar budayanya? Itulah tema sesungguhnya dari UFF tahun ini.”

An Indigineous Ranah Minang Food Festival at Banyubiru Restaurant The Laguna Bali Nusa Dua

Banyubiru Restaurant at The Laguna Bali invites you to experience indigenous delectable cuisine from West Sumatra during a three-day festival. Taste the bold flavors of the famous beef “rendang” and nasi Padang at this newly revamped restaurant. 

Ranah Minang Food Festival will also be presenting guest chef, Reno Andam Suri, who will be working alongside the culinary team at Banyubiru. Reno started her culinary career when she created a “rendang” package known as “Rendang Uni Farah” which became famous among Indonesian people living abroad as a dish that brought them strong memories of home. Her reputation has strengthened over the years, allowing her to receive many awards for business and entrepreneurship. Reno wrote “Rendang, Minang Legacy to The World” and became a culinary advisor for the Indonesian box-office movie “Tabula Rasa” which has a culinary theme. Reno is very passionate about her culinary culture and would love to share her creativity with the world.

The three-day festival will open with a press conference on Thursday, 25 February 2016, located at Balai Ulu at The Laguna Bali, which will give an overview of the exciting three days of festival. Banyubiru Restaurant will present a special buffet dinner during the festival from 25 to 27 February 2016 starting at 6PM to offer an indigenous experience at its best. This unique experience will be offered to hotel guests and non-hotel visitors at IDR450,000 net per person. 

The newly revamped, Banyubiru Restaurant at The Laguna Bali, features western and pan-Asian cuisine, with an extensive á la carte menu. Various buffet themes are also offered. With a 200 seat capacity, Banyubiru has a spectacular glass show kitchen where guests can observe the chefs preparing the best of eastern and western cuisine. Open for breakfast and dinner, the restaurant has both air-conditioned and outdoor seating areas, furnished in a contemporary style, it makes for a truly exceptional experience for dining in Nusa Dua.
